EBTC is pleased to support the Smart Cities India 2015 exhibition and conference.

Smart Cities and India

India has prepared a blueprint for 100 new smart cities and will develop modern satellite towns around existing cities under the smart city programme. Investments of about USD 1.2 trillion (approx. EUR 1 trillion) will be required over the next 20 years across areas such as transportation, energy and public security to build smart cities in India.

The Government of India has allocated USD 1.2 billion (approx. EUR 1 billion) for Smart Cities in the Budget 2014-15 and this allocation is followed by USD 349 million (approx. EUR 300 million) in the current budget with 53% increase to the Urban Development Ministry – entrusted with the task of implementing the project of Smart Cities.

EBTC as a platform for EU-India Collaboration

Europe has many sustainable and smart city experiences, companies, and solutions to share. Hence, there is a need for a platform in order to support regular interactions on this subject to leverage mutual interests and align initiatives to create a large impact towards EU-India collaboration in this area.

EBTC is one such platform to share, lead and represent EU-India collaborations in ‘Smart Cities’ domain. The platform attracts government officials, investors, industry leaders and experts from around European cities to discuss and exchange ideas, information, project reports, etc., on opportunities and future requirements for developing smart cities in India.

Organised by the Exhibitions India (EI) Group, Smart Citis India 2015 expo and conference will take place from 20th – 22nd May 2015 in New Delhi. This event will provide a common forum to discuss and deliberate challenging issues, new areas and upcoming technologies with stakeholders who are developing smart cities. The conference methodology includes plenary sessions, meetings, demos, presentations, projects and solutions. It also provides opportunities for one-to-one meetings, group discussions and networking.

Leveraging the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) Connection & a B2Match portal

Since EBTC is an Enterprise Europe Network India nodal point, we are leveraging this event to arrange an EEN Brokerage Event. At the EEN Brokerage event, there will be B2Bs to meet Indian citiy managers, companies, clusters and solution providers seeking European collaborations.

A dedicated B2Match portal ( https://www.b2match.eu/smartcitiesindia2015 ) will enable European and Indian stakeholders to register and to set up B2B meetings. This event will be co-organised by EBTC and another EEN Partner, Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de région Paris Île de France.
