German Indian Economic Forum

Tuesday 21 April 2015 08:00am

“Make in India” the new campaign launched in September 2014 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims at bringing foreign direct investment to India, especially in the field of manufacturing. The importance of India as a market for German and European companies should be underlined in 2015, when India will serve as a host country to the biggest industry fair in the world, the Hannover Messe.

Events focused on members of the German Mittelstand, who are interested in entering the Indian market are rarely seen in Germany. Therefore German Indian Round Table Leipzig GIRT Leipzig and Fraunhofer MOEZ together are organizing a German-Indian Economic Forum in Leipzig in April 2015. Directly following the Hannover Messe the event gives you the ideal opportunity to make new contacts and to get an insight into the challenges when entering the Indian market.

The German-Indian Economic Forum addresses German companies from the regions Middle Germany. Brandenburg and Berlin with interest in entering the Indian market. Target groups are mid-sized companies, known as the Mittelstand, especially from the B2B-sector. The event will take place on the 21st of April 2015 and will bring representatives of 50 to 80 companies to Leipzig. The event will have the structure of an open panel discussion with different workshops, speeches and plenary sessions addressing different topics of internationalisation companies have to consider.

Therefore we are offering companies and service providers (such as holdings, consultancies, MNEs) the possibility to serve as partners of the event and to present their services to the participating companies. For this reason, there will be a fair ground at the event location where companies can be informed about different services available when planning to enter the Indian market.

Partners will get the possibility to hold separate workshops addressing individual topics or to share their experience on the Indian market. The workshops will be held parallel during the event. A final panel discussion will discuss the actual relevant topics and will mark the official end of the summit.
